$2.00

The Grade AA Red Cherry Shrimp is a popular color variation of the wild Neocaridina heteropoda shrimp species. Originally bred in Germany, this color variation started to become available in the United States in the late 1990s. These shrimp have a lifespan of 1-2 years, and when fully grown, they reach a size of 1.75 inches. These are available for purchase at a size of 0.75-1 inch.

Dwarf Emerald Rasbora

Microrasbora erythromicron, also known as the dwarf emerald rasbora, is a nano fish species selectively bred for a striking sunkist-orange color. These small fish are appreciated by fish AND shrimp keepers for their peaceful nature. They are the perfect addition to a shrimp-/invertebrate setup or even a community tank with plants and other fish.

Dwarf Emerald Rasbora Behavior

Dwarf emerald rasboras are omnivorous scavengers.  They will readily accept most flake foods and algae wafers, as well as freeze-dried daphnia, bloodworms, tubifex, and brine shrimp.

Dwarf emerald rasboras are a favorite in the hobby because of their incredibly peaceful temperament and therefore their ability to be kept with other species of fish and shrimp.  They are very shy in small groups, so we recommend keeping them in groups of 10 or more so that they can be more active and playful.

Dwarf Emerald Rasbora Care

An omnivorous diet is key to helping keep your dwarf emerald rasboras happy and healthy.  In addition, you will need to keep your tank water stable and of high quality. Find out more about Dwarf Emerald Rasboras  in The Shrimp Farm University.

Buying Dwarf Emerald Rasboras

Dwarf emerald rasboras are an excellent addition to any planted tank, community tank, or shrimp tank due to their peaceful nature.  We recommend keeping them with plants, rock, or driftwood that provide them with cover in order for them to really thrive.
